Born in New Orleans and raised in Houston, Karen Prophet is a personal injury attorney with a genuine passion for helping people and advocating for those who need someone in their corner.
Education and Early Achievements
Before becoming an attorney, Karen spent nearly 16 years singing opera as a mezzo-soprano. She attended Texas Southern University on a music scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, followed by an LL.M. in Natural Resources and Energy Law from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Karen began her legal career at a personal injury firm and quickly realized she had found her calling. She is passionate about fighting for injured clients, ensuring their experiences are taken seriously, and pursuing the recovery they deserve. For Karen, one of the most rewarding parts of practicing law is seeing the relief and happiness of a client after a successful resolution. Her approach to practicing law is simple: show up for people, advocate for them, and make a difference when it matters most.
Personal Interests
Outside of the office, Karen is a devote mother who enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Music remains her first love, and during football season, you can usually find her and her family hosting watch parties for their favorite collegiate and NFL teams.
